From fast food to fine dining, Brevard’s
lively restaurant scene keeps foodies happy.
Dinner often comes with a view of the
Indian River or the Atlantic Ocean. At
Yellow Dog Café in Malabar, enjoy upscale
comfort dining while watching the boats
along the Intracoastal. Sailboats are almost
within touching distance from your table
at the Chart House in Melbourne. At
historical Cocoa Beach Pier, it is not about
people-watching, but rather about cruise
ship-watching as these giants of the sea
leave or arrive at nearby Port Canaveral.
For a special evening, the award-winning
Café Margaux, featured by Emeril himself,
awaits with monthly wine dinners that
showcase outstanding menus and wine and
weekly bar events that focus on unexpected
libations. Green Turtle Market’s Grapevine
Cafe and LeFrench, both in Indian Harbour
Beach, also schedule outstanding dining
events featuring excellent wines.
Chef-curated pub fare is on the menu at
Viera’s 28 North Gastropub, while Pizza
Gallery may be one of the few pizzerias
where dining is literally an art, since the
restaurant also features a sophisticated
art gallery.
Viera is also home to a variety of chains,
including Melting Pot and Bonefish Grill.
Coming in 2023 to Viera is Urban Prime, a
complex that will incorporate a 300-plusseat
restaurant with a gourmet food market
and wine shop showcasing unique vintages
and labels.
Enjoy ethnic dining? Red Ginger at
Melbourne Square and Suntree offers
fine Asian dishes and is one of the few
restaurants in the area where robots help
human servers with the meals. Estampa
Gaucha, also in Melbourne Square, satisfies
both carnivores and vegetarians with
never-ending meat dishes and a bountiful
salad buffet. When an urge for tandoor
strikes, restaurants such as Taste of India in
Melbourne oblige. Nini’s in Indialantic cooks
up traditional Cuban cuisine, updated for
today’s palates. In Satellite Beach, Nippon
Thai features outstanding Thai entrees
along with mouth-watering sushi.
Seafood lovers have plenty of options,
including the Fish House in Grant-Valkaria,
a place that transports diners to the classic
Florida eatery by the water’s edge. At the
other end of the county, iconic Dixie
Crossroads is the place for delicacies such
as mullet and rock shrimp. At Port Canaveral,
diners can enjoy fish that had been swimming
in the ocean just hours before.
The pub scene thrives all around the county
with breweries that, like Intracoastal
Brewing Co. in the Eau Gallie Arts District,
pair brews with award-winning food trucks.
The list goes on and on and on, so forget
eating in where there is so much dining out.
