BREVARD
Large and diverse, Palm Bay is South
Brevard’s key city. The more than 100,000
residents of Palm Bay have their pick
from apartments and starter homes to
executive residences and Barefoot Bay, the
largest manufactured home community
in Florida.
Recreational activities include 29
city parks that feature paintball and
skateboarding, an aquatic center, a 200-
acre regional park, two public/private
golf courses and Turkey Creek Sanctuary
wildlife preserve. Kayak through Turkey
Creek itself with a kayak rental from
Paddling Paradise.
The splashes are year round at Eastern
Florida State College’s Palm Bay Aquatic
Center, and, of course, the beaches are
always nearby. South of Palm Bay is Bayside
Lakes, a planned community where
golf plays an important role. Emerald
known for comfort food with a flair. Like
Yellow Dog, The Shack offers riverfront
dining with expansive outdoor decks.
Every October, Palm Bay enjoys Viva
Brevard, a major celebration of the city’s
Hispanic population.
Andretti Thrill Park is for kids young and
old with five go-kart tracks, an 18-hole
miniature golf, laser tag, batting cages,
rock-climbing and an arcade.
