Beach in the south, the Space Coast’s unique coastal
communities tempt with beach vibes and with plentiful
natural wonders.
An important natural habitat for marine turtles, the
72 miles of Space Coast beaches serve as nesting
and foraging sites for marine turtles. Every year, Sea
Turtle Preservation Society members lead visitors
on tours to witness the amazing spectacle of these
massive reptiles. Barrier Island Sanctuary provides
a year-round interpretive museum and hiking trails.
Satellite Beach is home to Patrick Space Force Base,
headquarters of the 45th Space Wing. The facility
spans from the Atlantic to the Indian River Lagoon.
Even the family canine can claim his own beach in
Brevard, for Indian Harbour Beach’s Canova Beach
Park welcomes pets. Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach
has also gone to the dogs with a dog park.
At the southern tip of the county is Sebastian Inlet State
Park, where overnight camping is available, complete
with impressive sunrise views and awesome surfing.
Yes, every day wherever you may be in Brevard is a
great day in which to be alive.
