With more than 4.5 million cruise
passengers and 5.4 million tons of bulk
cargo — from automobiles to oranges —
passing through each year, Port Canaveral
is one of the most hard-working ports in
 the world.
Not only do cruise and cargo ships
depend on Port Canaveral, but it is also an
important naval port that has additionally
played a role in supporting space projects,
 from Apollo to Space X.
Ranked as the world’s second busiest
 cruise port in multiday embarkations,
Port Canaveral also is a popular vacation
destination. The closest port to Orlando
and its theme parks, Port Canaveral offers
an abundance of options to while away a
few hours or a string of days. Go deep-sea
fishing with a charter boat, take in a launch
from Jetty Park or watch the passing
cruise ships from your front-row seat at
one of the Port’s many restaurants. The
catch of the day is indeed fresh, since it
was caught that same day and delivered
to the restaurant from local fishing boats.
The Cove waterfront recreation area at
 Port Canaveral also includes lounges,
shops, tiki bars and a casino ship.
The seven-story Exploration Tower is an
 experience that offers interactive exhibits,
a theater with two-story screen, cafe, gift
shop and a spectacular bird’s eye view
of the bustling surroundings from two
 observation decks.
Special events such as the Smoke in the
Water & Fire in the Sky multiday fireworks
extravaganza add an extra layer of fun
 to a visit.
When it is time to go aboard, take your
pick of cruises from Carnival, Disney,
 Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and MSC
 Cruise Lines.
At Port Canaveral, the world is your oyster.
