FLORIDA’S SPACE COAST OFFICE OF TOURISM PHOTOS
The abundance of parks on the Space
Coast, both city- and county-managed,
offers places to not only explore nature at
its finest, but an opportunity for residents
and visitors to celebrate special occasions
with family and friends.
From pet-friendly locations to campground
access, to beachside and sports venues,
Space Coast parks offer a rich opportunity
for leisure activities and state-of-the-art
athletic facilities.
Many of the county parks are designed
to preserve the sensitive ecosystem and
include endangered lands and wildlife,
making for great photo opportunities for
those seeking to get in touch with nature.
Educational programs at the many
nature centers focus on awareness of
the outdoors and preservation of the
environment which include the county’s
unique Indian River Lagoon, the St. Johns
River, lakes, wetlands, maritime hammocks
and scrub lands. They are a bird-watcher’s
paradise and provide a sanctuary for
birding communities including rare
species of osprey, eagles, egrets, pelicans
and other wildlife.
The more than 150 locations throughout
the Space Coast are all unique and offer
everything from boat ramp access, nature
centers, aquatic centers, bicycle and hiking
trails, picnic areas, beachside pavilions,
volleyball, tennis, and shuffleboard courts,
baseball and soccer fields, playgrounds,
kayak and canoeing, surfing, kite boarding,
skateboarding, fishing, and overnight
camping access.
