Alyce started her career with Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge on November 21, 1977 as a unit secretary. She transferred into her current position as the human resources administrative assistant in October 2000.  She has served on numerous committees throughout Wuesthoff Health System, assisted with the annual United Way Campaigns and was a co-chairman for Wuesthoff’s “Higher Standard” Employee Capital Campaign in 2002, which raised funds for a new cardiac cath lab, the Wuesthoff Heart Center program and the construction of the 12-bed Hospice House. “It is a pleasure and honor to work with Alyce each and every day due to her infectious smile, can-do attitude, compassion and knowledge,” said Gail Kroen, director of human resources.

Screen Shot 2015-09-25 at 2.44.55 PM“She is the epitome of what we look for in an employee and her history with Wuesthoff is most impressive — she is definitely a rock star,” Gail said.

Regarding her employment, Alyce said “In 1977 when I applied for a job at Wuesthoff, it was not random. Other than the birth of my children, my first encounter with Wuesthoff was as the wife of a patient. After my husband’s lengthy recovery, I went to Wuesthoff because I wanted to be a part of the wonderful, caring, and dedicated employees taking care of people each day. I am so proud to say the heart of the Wuesthoff employees remains the same today, and it truly is awesome to work with so many outstanding people every day.”

Likewise, “Ruth has made invaluable contributions to our hospital during her tenure and she is a key component to the success of our organization. She is willing to assist all staff members and always does so with a pleasant demeanor,” said Ron Gicca, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne. Ruth has been with Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne since November 1, 2011. She has worked in Wuesthoff Melbourne Administration as an executive assistant since her inception working with the CEO, CFO and COO. The Melbourne facility staff is a cohesive team, working together to assist the needs of their patients and community.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the 2014 Employee of the Year to represent the Wuesthoff Melbourne facility. My family and I moved to Florida almost nine years ago and after having spent almost 10 years at a New Jersey law firm, I wanted to entrench myself in the ‘community’ and thought the best way possible was to work in the healthcare field assisting those in need,” said Ruth.
