Brevard Public Schools has certainly done its homework.
The 49th largest school district in the country and the
10th in the state, it serves more than 73,000 students
annually at 84 schools, 15 special centers and 12 charter
schools in 17 municipalities across the Space Coast.
Its more than 9,000 teachers and staff are committed
to delivering quality education with a culture that
encourages academics, sports, the arts, and dedication,
collaboration and service to the community.
Several Brevard schools received top grades in rankings
from U.S. News and World Report, placing them among
the top 100 in the nation. Westshore Junior/Senior
High School in Melbourne ranked 58th in the United
States, based on graduation rates, state test scores
and college preparation. The school ranks third among
Florida public schools.
Edgewood Junior/Senior High School in Merritt Island
is also among the top 10 in Florida. Brevard ranks second
only to Dade County schools in the number of schools
that make the Top 10 listings.
