Both city and county parks on the Space
Coast offer a place to explore nature,
celebrate special occasions with family
and friends, hang with your four-legged
fur baby or even camp overnight and watch
the sun go down while fishing along the
river or ocean.
Many county parks in Brevard preserve
the sensitive ecosystem and include
endangered lands and threatened species.
Educational programs at nature centers
focus on awareness of the outdoors and
preservation of the environment which
includes the unique Indian River Lagoon,
the St. Johns River, lakes, wetlands, maritime
hammocks and scrub. Specific parks are
havens for bird watching and provide
sanctuary for many bird communities
including the osprey, eagle, egret, pelican,
and various wildlife including sea turtles
and manatees.
Any resident or tourist visiting Brevard will
find that its parks offer a rich opportunity
for leisure activity and state-of-the art
athletic facilities.
Whether inland or beachside, there are
plenty of facilities that can be accessed at
the more than 150 county park locations
and wildlife sanctuaries, including boat
ramps, nature centers, trails, cultural sites,
aquatic centers, playgrounds, shuffleboard,
tennis, volleyball, baseball and soccer fields,
event/picnic pavilions, and overnight stay
campgrounds.
Information on Brevard parks can be
found at www.brevardfl.gov or by visiting
