Brevard Cultural Alliance to present pARTicipate to Innovate: A Cultural Summit

On May 14, 2015, BCA will present the first Brevard County Cultural Summit at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place beginning at 8:30 a.m. BCA is honored to host Americans for the Arts President and CEO Bob Lynch, as the keynote speaker at this year’s event. Americans for the Arts is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education.

The Space Coast arts and cultural sector is thriving, having contributed $68.5 million to the local GDP in 2014 alone. Brevard arts initiatives have garnered the recognition of national organizations – like the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). As a matter of fact, the NEA awarded two non-competitive grants to Brevard Cultural Alliance (BCA), the community’s designated arts agency, in 2014 for the first time ever to support innovative programs on the Space Coast.

Bob-Lynch“Brevard County’s Cultural Summit is an important initiative that will help amplify the work of individual cultural organizations and their leaders through an opportunity to convene and collaborate and envision a dynamic future,” said Bob Lynch.

The results of a new economic impact study will also be revealed during a community and business leaders’ luncheon. Additionally, a series of workshops and panel discussions tied to a range of topics including audience development, fundraising and nonprofit best practices will be presented in the morning and afternoon. Attendees may choose to participate in the whole day or the luncheon portion only.

“There is so much potential for collaboration and innovation in this sector and we want to lead the charge in bringing all of the cultural groups, artists, corporations and business leaders together to enable that process,” said BCA Executive Director Neil Levine. “Elevating the arts is our goal and we will utilize this event to demonstrate the real value of the sector while provoking dialogue that may change the face of Brevard’s arts community in very positive ways.”
