When Mark and Linda Hulbert founded Hulbert Homes in 1997, their vision was straightforward: Build homes with quality and integrity, and never lose sight of the details that make a house feel like home.
In the beginning, that meant building just one home a year. Soon it became two, then four as the company’s reputation grew. Mark and Linda were deeply involved in every project, sometimes painting homes themselves. Mark was known to work late into the evening sweeping floors and picking up debris around job sites.
That attention to detail helped bring Hulbert Homes its first custom-home client. Impressed by the cleanliness of one of Mark’s job sites, a prospective customer decided that was the builder he wanted for his own home.
Nearly three decades later, the company has grown considerably, but the philosophy behind it remains much the same. Hulbert Homes now employs 35 people and builds custom homes in Polk and Flagler counties and on the Space Coast. Along the way, the company has earned numerous honors for overall quality, design, fit and finish.
Now Hulbert Homes is bringing that experience to Titusville with The Shores at Tranquility, where a new model home is scheduled to open in October.
The expansion introduces Space Coast homebuyers to a building process designed to carry a home from the first ideas on paper through the finishing touches. Hulbert Homes offers in-house plan design and interior decorators, allowing clients to personalize their homes while working with a team accustomed to guiding the process from concept through completion.
Quality control remains central to that process. Each home undergoes a 159-point quality control inspection and is backed by a two-year warranty, reflecting the same emphasis on craftsmanship that began when Mark was personally tending to his earliest job sites.
