Holiday Gift GuideSHOPPING LOCAL

Here’s a selection of amazingly cool, Space Coast gift selections we wanted to showcase for your holiday consideration.

Whether you are searching for a unique handmade item, a gift for those who seek adventure, something antique or coastal themed, gift certificates for dining out, a one-of-a-kind piece of art or to purchase a gift with the goal of donating to a favorite charity, the options are endless on the Space Coast.

The Space Coast is the perfect place to discover great gifts for your favorite future astronaut or armchair space explorer.

The Loungefly NASA Mini Space Suit Backpack is just the thing for a day trip or for a student in need. It’s even smart enough to serve as a whimsical purse. And since it’s only available through the Kennedy Space Center, you don’t have to worry about everybody else having one.

The compact and durable backpack has adjustable straps, and is decorated with red and blue emblems, reminiscent of a spacesuit.

A gold circle represents the face shield of a helmet. The American flag and NASA logo are on the side of the pack, complete with the Loungefly logo.

Priced at $85, it measures 12”x 4” x 9” and is exclusively available online or at the Kennedy Space Center gift shop in the Visitors Center.

For those who are looking to add some holiday spirits to their gift list or festivities inventory this season, Oceanside Distillery is handcrafting whiskey, vodka, rum and gin right here on the Space Coast.

The small batch distillery in Cape Canaveral uses fresh Florida flavors to create colorfully named concoctions — Moon Dance Rum and 28 North Vodka, to name a couple that promise to leave a lasting impression.

All are created by tapping into the best regional ingredients, using oak barrels and utilizing the finest distilling techniques. Oceanside Distillery has been awarded the State of Florida’s Fresh from Florida designation.

Taste testings and tours are available daily at the distillery.
