No doubt about it — trivia nights are brainy fun
On the Space Coast, good times aren’t reserved exclusively for the weekends. If you’ve been searching for a way to make your weeknights livelier — while also checking out new spots around town — trivia nights may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
In most locations, it’s free to play and you only need a team of two. Although general knowledge is the typical go-to for questions, keep an eye out for themed nights — especially because most spots offer a prize for the winner or the top three teams. So, gather your friends, brush up on your random facts and check out these local trivia spots.
Intracoastal Brewing Company
Trivia every Monday at 7 p.m.
652 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Melbourne
Located in the artistic Eau Gallie district, Intracoastal Brewing has been a local hub for more than a decade. With mainly outdoor seating, lit by their welcoming string lights, trivia nights at this brewery mean fresh air, unmatched ambiance and the opportunity to bring your dog along for the fun. Plus, with a constantly rotating selection of beers on tap — between IPAs, lagers, stouts, ales and hard ciders — there’s something for everyone. Not to mention, with their on-site food truck, they’re always ready to serve up sizzling snacks to fuel your brain for even the trickiest trivia.
With general knowledge questions, anything from sports and science to literature and recent events are all up for grabs. So come prepared with your thinking caps on tight. Teams of all sizes are welcome to play, and top teams can earn a gift card to Intracoastal. Hosted by Trivia Nation, Intracoastal’s weekly trivia occurs every Monday night at 7 p.m. — but be sure to check their social media for updates, as trivia is typically canceled when it lines up with a holiday.

World of Beer
Trivia every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
2290 Town Center Ave., Melbourne
Affectionately known as Danny’s Trivia, your weekly trivia host is none other than Danny himself. It’s free to play — with the purchase of a beer — and teams can consist of any number of players, as long as you have at least two. While normal weeks cover general knowledge topics, keep an eye out for themed nights, often occurring around holidays. These have previously included Halloween and Christmas trivia, along with Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Marvel nights.
With a name like World of Beer, this is the kind of place where you’ll be hard pressed to run out of exciting new options to try anytime soon. And if you feel you need some brain fuel for Danny’s tricky questions, feel free to bring any outside food into the bar.
As a fun twist on Danny’s trivia, all questions are displayed on the televisions around the bar. Plus, the format of the questions constantly changes. At times you’ll need to watch a short video clip; for others, you’ll need to listen to music; sometimes you’ll even have to match the items up for different categories. The top three teams win a gift card to World of Beer and get their photo taken with the fan-favorite trivia trophies.

Warm, cozy and tropical, Pau Hana Kava Bar is a flourishing local spot to play pool, meet other locals, try new drinks and test your knowledge at their biweekly trivia.
Pau Hana
Trivia every other Tuesday at 9 p.m.
3002 W. New Haven Ave., West Melbourne
Located along the bustling Route 192, Pau Hana offers a relaxed and welcoming environment for anyone interested in trivia. Unlike other locations, which switch to a different topic for each question, Pau Hana follows one topic per round — allowing you multiple chances to test your knowledge on one subject. Be ready to have your listening ears turned on — the top team receives a prize.
As a kava bar, Pau Hana is much more reminiscent of a comfortable coffee shop. In fact, coffee is one of the many drink options you can order. Along with teas and kava, there’s an abundance of delicious combinations to try. Have no worries if you’ve never tried kava before, as the incredibly friendly kavatenders can offer their recommendations.
A Hawaiian phrase, “pau hana” means “done with work.” It’s the time that’s meant to be set aside to relax, socialize and be filled with enjoyment. Bringing this Hawaiian mindset to Florida, Pau Hana Kava Bar embraces each of these practices and welcomes all guests with open arms.
