Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. It’s a midsummer celebration of America’s Independence, and what better way to celebrate than with a patriotic barbecue.

I won’t go into all the details on how to throw a top barbecue (see that here) but I will share the details on how to wow your guests with a patriotic dessert!

Fruit Salad

Fruit salad is a great addition to a cookout, especially in summertime. Not only is it easy to prep, it is a favorite among many.

For a simple mix, use: strawberries, blueberries an

d white raspberries. Add some whip cream, if you dare!

For a creative mix, use: watermelon and blueberries. Be sure to use a star cookie cutter to cut out the watermelon pieces.

Flag Cake

This patriotic-themed cake makes for a beautiful centerpiece and is an absolute show-stopper. What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with an American flag cake, plus it is a lot of fun to make!

Rice Krispies Treat Wands

Kids will love these Rice Krispies Treat Wands! These gluten-free treats are delicious and beats a melting Popsicle (and the mess too!) You can get creative with these treats by adding frosting and sprinkles, but I personally love the touch of ribbon!
