Crydermans Barbecue opened its highly anticipated second location in Downtown Melbourne just last year.
Chad and Amy Cryderman opened their first location in Cocoa Village in 2017 serving wood-fired barbeque from scratch with in-house recipes. It quickly became a popular lunch destination with a line out the door, and the restaurant would serve until it ran out of food, which happened daily. The Melbourne location was opened to fill the need for overflow, adding a local BBQ restaurant to the Melbourne area.
Having won the “best bite” at Melbourne Food & Wine Festival for three years in a row, you can imagine how excited Brevard residents in the southern region were to get a taste of the excitement. The new location features an even larger outdoor eating area with the same beloved hand-built reclaimed hurricane-wood tables and benches.
Chad smokes all of the meats on his two large smokers which are both located at the Cocoa Village location. With recipes developed over years of trial and error, Crydermans focuses on oak wood-smoked central Texas-style barbecue made fresh daily with dry rub recipes for the freshest, most tender and juiciest BBQ you can find locally. Chad is a true barbeque enthusiast and puts his heart into everything that he creates. He believes in sticking to the time-honored traditions of “salt, pepper, meat, fire and a little patience”. If you ever get a chance to meet him, you will be treated as an instant friend.
When you enter the front door, you are immediately greeted by a very enthusiastic team ready to take your order. I highly suggest trying a little bit of everything, but at the very least, you must try one of the sandwiches, like the Texas 2-Step – a local favorite featuring a large sampling of the menu. Or try the delicious sausage, brisket or pulled pork with one of the signature sauces. You will taste the delicious melt-in-your-mouth flavor achieved only by the slow smoking process. You may not even feel the need to try the sauces but make sure you do.
In addition, the seasonal treats are secret recipe treasures! Crydermans also caters events both small and large for all your event needs.
Be sure to check the hours before you go. Crydermans recently changed its closing times to include early dinner at the Melbourne location! And an extra tip is to show up as close to opening as possible as the line can get long and they do sell out.
