Parkerson and her husband homeschool their children, and she volunteers with her homeschool community and with her church. For her, being involved in the lives of her children is a top priority. “Being a mother means being available to my children and loving them well. It means nurturing my boys in a way that will help them develop their God-given talents so that they can use them effectively when they reach adulthood.”
Parkerson shared that she learned this selflessness from her mother. Her mother was and always is available, and she hopes that her boys will not only say the same thing about her, but also do the same for their families. Along with this selflessness, Parkerson hopes that her boys will learn to follow andbe like Jesus. “I enjoy spending time talking with my boys and watching them grow and develop into kind, compassionate young men.”
