TITUSVILLE, FLA. (March 15, 2018)— One thousand Parrish Medical Center patients have enrolled in Partners in Healing, a collaboration between PMC and the local faith community.

“The Partners in Healing program is great!” “I love that my church and my hospital are working together to offer support to me when I’m in the hospital and when I go home, “said George C. Partelow, the 1,000th person to enroll in the program as of February.

As a healing hospital, PMC began partnering with local faith communities in 2013 to provide patients with spiritual and emotional support. Today, 25 congregations are actively involved.
For many patients, a hospitalization brings treatments requiring a brief recovery and quick return to good health. For others, it is a new reality of a life changed.

“Recognizing that good spiritual and emotional health has a positive effect on physical health and recovery from illness, our program provides a team of hospital pastoral care and local congregation members to provide follow-up support,” said Jerald Smith, PMC Chaplain. “We want to be sure that our patients have everything they need for a full recovery and that their healing continues after they leave the hospital.”
