“Fire & Ice” Gala Sponsorship Opportunities Available
TITUSVILLE, FLA, September 28, 2016—Jess Parrish Medical Foundation (JPMF) has announced the law firm of GrayRobinson, P.A. and Laura & William Boyles as the presenting sponsors of the “Fire & Ice” benefit gala on Friday, Oct. 21, from 8 p.m. to midnight at La Cita Country Club in Titusville.
One-in-five American adults, and millions of children, experience mental health conditions each year, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress. In July, a tragic shooting took place at Parrish Medical Center (PMC) resulting in the loss of two precious lives at the hands of a young man who suffers from mental illness. As the PMC family mourns and recovers from this incident, the hospital formed a unique partnership of key mental health stakeholders to identify mental health needs in North Brevard, led by Dr. Louis Joseph, PMC Chairman of Psychiatry.
“Educating the community, youth, parents and health service providers about early identification and intervention is vital,” said Dr. Joseph. “Mental health services should be community-based and people with mental illnesses need access to treatment, rehabilitation and support services within their own community. This issue is bigger than just one organization but will take the entire community working together to make a real difference.”
“We believe in continuing the foundation’s mission of providing healing experiences to families throughout Brevard County. Last year, the gala helped establish a teen health and wellness program focused on preventing suicide, bullying, substance abuse and self-harm,” said William A. Boyles, shareholder at GrayRobinson, P.A. “As presenting sponsor, we know our investment is building on that foundation and expanding services that can help address mental health needs and improve the quality of life of those suffering.”
The “Fire & Ice” gala hopes to raise more than $135,000 in net proceeds toward mental health services. Event guests will help ignite hope and inspiration while enjoying an exhilarating evening with live entertainment, gourmet dining, dancing, silent auction and more as they’re captivated by the competing elements of Fire & Ice. When purchasing one ticket for $20 or six tickets for $100, you may enter for a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize or Michou necklace, bracelet and earring set, estimated value of $1,000, from Jon’s Fine Jewelry in Cocoa Village.
The underwriting committee has secured sponsorships from numerous community members and organizations. N. Christine Sylvester is the Sizzle & Sparkle sponsor. Blaze & Blizzard sponsors include BIMDA; Susan Morse, Senior Vice President and Steve Soltesz,
Financial Advisor, UBS Financial Services; and Dr. Tanya Taival, Parrish Medical Group Obstetrics & Gynecology. Flame & Frost sponsors include Boggs Gases, Coastal Ambulance Service, Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, Industrial Steel, Inc. and Terry & Barbara Terhune. Media sponsors include FLORIDA TODAY and SCB Marketing. Other generous sponsors will be recognized at the gala.
“Mental health touches everyone, and we’re so thankful to all our sponsors whose investments will impact our community,” said Dr. Taival, gala committee chair. “Each year the committee brings fresh ideas, terrific entertainment, delicious food and fabulous auction items together to wow and entertain our guests. It’s impossible not to have a great time!”
Committee members are Winnie Brewer, Kelley Broome, Mary Coleman, Leigh Gerrett, Betty Greene, Melissa Lugo, Susan Morse and Katherine Musick.
