2015 Holiday Decor Trends
Metallics
Copper and bronze are alternatives to gold and silver and can be used for similar effects. Metallics are expanding from silver and gold to bronze, copper and jewel-toned colorways.
Prints and Patterns
Small printed designs are being used to break up solid blocks of color. These tight, scaled-down prints draw heavily from florals and nature motifs. Fashion’s influence on Christmas décor remains apparent with on-trend patterns such as chevrons, ikat and animal prints.
LEDs
Lighted LED items are only increasing in popularity as more sophisticated ways emerge to integrate the twinkle of lights in both indoor and outdoor décor. Items include lighted florals, shadow boxes and glass ornaments.
Winter White
Shades of white, ivory and cream mixed with a variety of metallic colors, create magic during the holiday season.
Organic
Consumers are interested in making eco-friendly choices in their seasonal merchandise and using natural materials such as jute, burlap and papier-mache. This has led to a “farm to table” look, composed of earthy, organic and natural trends in design.
Stylized Woodland
Small woodland creatures including foxes, squirrels, owls, bears and deer continue their popularity as a cast of characters for rustic, woodland and lodge themes; however now these icons are appearing in more modernized versions.
Beach Chic
While nautical motifs still remain popular, there has also been a shift to celebrate coastal living with greens and earth tones, a woodsy mood and Americana accents.
Popular Color Combinations for Holiday Décor:
Florida allows the use of coastal colors for holiday decorating as seen in this Christmas tree. White, turquoise, pinks and silver all complete a tropical themed tree.
Slipcovers are gaining in popularity because they can be easily removed and cleaned or replaced when needed.
Indian River Furniture has a diverse line of accessories to complement any style and taste needed.
