For Gerry and Christine O’Shea, the Space Coast has always been more than an address — it is woven into their family’s story.
Born at Patrick Air Force Base and raised in Rockledge, Gerry grew up exploring the Indian River shoreline, hopping from rock to rock along Rockledge Drive while watching America’s space launches light up the sky. His father worked security at what is now known as NASA, making the Space Coast’s remarkable history part of everyday life. Those early adventures fostered a lifelong love for the water, the outdoors, and the community he proudly calls home.
As a young man, Gerry was a competitive surfer before dedicating his career to serving others as a Brevard County Firefighter and Paramedic. Responding to emergencies and rescuing people in their most difficult moments instilled a deep sense of purpose that has guided his life ever since. Along the way, he built businesses spanning nearly five decades, earned multiple Home Builders & Contractors Association landscape awards, and traveled the world — always returning home to Brevard County.
Christine, a sixth-generation Floridian, was raised on the Space Coast in a family whose roots in development, construction, real estate and hurricane protection date back to the early 1960s. She built a successful career as a Realtor®, sharing her family’s passion for helping people build, protect, and invest in the place they call home.
Following the hurricanes of 2017, Gerry and Christine combined their experience, faith and love for Florida’s waterways to establish High Surf LLC. Specializing in shoreline restoration, natural rock revetments, storm cleanup, and land clearing, High Surf protects waterfront homes while preserving the beauty and resilience of Florida’s coasts for future generations.
Today, High Surf Corp. stands as the O’Shea family’s commitment made visible — a company built from decades of service, craftsmanship and deep respect for the Space Coast.
