As private medical practices across the country continue to become dismantled by large, integrated healthcare corporations and hospital systems, Melbourne-based TEPAS Healthcare has continued to stand strong and private, expanding and diversifying into a multi-physician, multi-specialty practice.
At the helm, Emran Imami, MD, FACS, medical director of TEPAS Healthcare, always envisioned a multi-disciplinary practice. The practice encompasses TEPAS Breast Center, TEPAS Vein Center, TEPAS Wound Care, and his most recent integration of Imami Skin Care and Cosmetic Center. The new center offers Imami’s proprietary, non-invasive Lyft techniques — radio frequency treatments to tone, tighten and reduce body fat, as well as hair transplantation and restoration, laser hair removal and general anti-aging treatment plans. As the first breast surgeon in Brevard County to perform a cryo-assisted lumpectomy last fall, and the first general surgeon to perform a non-surgical facelift using ‘cosmetic threads’ this spring, Imami will continue to be referred to as one of the most cutting-edge surgeons in Brevard, and now, an innovative expert in the ever-changing world of cosmetics.
Imami, who earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine, is board-certified with the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Medicine, Wound Care Specialist; the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine, and he is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons.
Joining the TEPAS Healthcare team is Stephanie Haridopolos, MD, a well-known primary care physician, medical writer and philanthropist. Haridopolos, who will focus on traditional health and wellness, nutrition, weight loss, bioidentical hormones and regenerative medicine, will also support Imami Skin’s cosmetic offerings.
Haridopolos, who graduated from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, has practiced medicine in Brevard County since 2002, and was recently appointed by Florida’s Governor, Rick Scott, to a four-year term on the Florida Board of Medicine. The state board is responsible for licensing, monitoring, disciplining, educating, and, when appropriate, rehabilitating physicians and other practitioners to assure quality care.
William Catena, MD, one of only a few infectious disease specialists in Brevard County, is also a member of the TEPAS team. Catena holds hospital privileges at both Holmes Regional Medical Center and Wuesthoff Hospital Melbourne. He has interests in inpatient care, Hepatitis C and HIV management.
Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine – Infectious Disease, Catena attained his medical degree from the University of Rome (Italy) School of Medicine; completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mountainside Hospital in Mont Clair, New Jersey; and fellowship in infectious disease from St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.
As part of the medical practice’s ongoing commitment to excellence and quality patient care, TEPAS Healthcare hosts two veteran ARNPs, Nikka Cohan and Simone Paul. Cohan, who received her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati, has been with TEPAS since 2014. Paul, who received her ARNP degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Addison, Illinois, has practiced nursing for more than 20 years. Both Cohan and Paul support TEPAS in offering surgery, breast care, wound care, infectious disease, vein and cosmetic services.
