Brevard Community College and the University of Central Florida

Host Fulbright Scholar

A successful proposal crafted in partnership by BCC and UCF recently brought a very special person to Brevard County, as the two institutions welcomed Fulbright Scholar Dr. Huseyin Dogan.

Professor Dogan is the chair of the psychology department at Meliksah University in Turkey.  His areas of specialty include career psychological counseling, business psychology, family counseling, special education, educational sciences, interpersonal relationships, and addiction psychology with special emphasis on Internet addiction.

While in Brevard County, Dr. Dogan will team teach a course in cross-cultural psychology this semester at UCF’s Palm Bay campus with Dr. Erin Murdoch.

In addition, he will participate in the UCF week-long summer faculty development workshop along with Dr. Denise Young, Associate Vice President for UCF’s Brevard Campuses and several of BCC’s faculty. Their topic will be partnerships in study abroad and internationalization.

Dr. Dogan also will offer guest talks for UCF classes in Orlando, focusing on human relations and Internet addiction. He will also participate in activities of the Nile Foundation, based in Orlando, which promotes knowledge of the Turkish culture in Central Florida.
