For the fourth year in a row, Calvary Chapel Academy (CCA) in Melbourne will host an impressive auction and gala event to raise money for the academy.

This year the event boasts a new name and new date for the fourth annual fundraiser. The CCA Grand Gala and Auction at Calvary Chapel Melbourne will have exciting live and silent items for bidding including items like an Ocean Landing weekend getaway, autographed guitar by Casting Crowns band members, exterior house painting package and Orlando Magic tickets. Dinner at the live and silent auction is sponsored by Carrabba’s of Palm Bay. Those looking for a getaway will also want to purchase a ticket for the Royal Caribbean cruise raffle (a separate price) and a South Carolina lake house vacation — a one week stay in a five bedroom lake house. Over $35,000 in treasures awaits bidding at this year’s event.

This year’s entertainment will be provided by the CCA Fine Arts department and an exhibition from an Irish Dance ensemble.

Proceeds from the auction will help enhance the athletic, fine arts and technology programs, specifically toward projects like a sports complex, including soccer/football field and covered basketball court.

“The event is completely operated by volunteers,” said Rose Steele, event chair.  “Calvary Chapel in Melbourne is transformed into a true gala. The decorations are phenomenal.”

Located on CCM’s Melbourne campus, Calvary Chapel Academy offers pre-school through 8th grade with an accelerated curriculum, age appropriate chapel services, athletics and fine arts.

Another important change for the academy, Tim Flay, the newly appointed principal of CCA, began last July. Tim began his duties last July upon the retirement of Ron Whipple.

Tim came to CCA, from Calvary Christian Academy in Ft. Lauderdale where he spent the last four years as the Secondary Assistant Principal and then Middle School Principal. He began his work at CCAFL as the Director of Fine Arts in 2006.

I don’t have any children or grandchildren living here but if they did, I would want them to attend CCA,” Rose said. “Not only is the education fantastic but you can feel that your children are in a safe and loving environment.  The teachers have a heart to see these children succeed in all that they do.”

Prior to the event an online auction is available for those that can’t actually attend the event but would like to be part of it.  CCAMELB.com/Auction.aspx
