Spotlight Artist: Gloria Brubaker at Downtown Art Gallery
Downtown Art Gallery is delighted to shine the spotlight on its newest member, Gloria Brubaker, an accomplished painter, author, and educator whose work celebrates color, light, and texture. Her special exhibit will be on view from November 10 through December 6.
Holding a Master’s degree in Adult Education, Brubaker has spent much of her career designing instructional programs for both corporations and community organizations. After retirement, she turned her creative energy to art and now inspires others as a mentor within the art community. Her award-winning paintings — from vibrant Florida florals to expressive New York cityscapes — reflect her love of learning, teaching, and artistic exploration.
Brubaker’s newest venture is her upcoming book, Let Them Hear You Roar!, a guide to self-empowerment that parallels the creative process of finding one’s voice through art. Visitors can meet Gloria in person and watch her paint live during a special art demonstration on Saturday, November 29, where she’ll also share insights from her book, and take pre-orders.
“My goal,” says Brubaker, “is to transform my observations of the physical world into impressionistic paintings of life’s beauty and vibrance—each an opportunity to pause, reflect, and surround yourself with fine art.”
