Family-owned since 1963, Sheltair is the largest privately owned aviation network offering an impressive list of amenities for private, charter and military clients. Founded by Jerry Holland, the company is now run by his daughter Lisa Holland. Under their combined leadership, Fort Lauderdale-based Sheltair has soared to 16 FBOs, or Fixed-Base Operators, with a real estate portfolio of more than 4 million square feet of terminals, hangars and office space. Melbourne-based General Manager Jeremy Phillips believes his clients and the surrounding community are part of Sheltair’s growing family. In his time with Sheltair, he’s watched the demand for custom services grow alongside the explosive growth of the Space Coast. “We strive to deliver high level service as a gateway to the Space Coast supporting the space industry, military and numerous private clients,” he said.

In addition to fueling the planes, Sheltair thrives in fueling its clients’ needs. Sheltair offers a suite of custom services, including concierge, in-flight catering, ground transportation, and accommodation support for both crew and passengers. Sheltair provides clients with a bright, clean and well-equipped main hub on site at MLB, including lounge areas, planning rooms and a boardroom for on-site meetings. Company employees pride themselves on treating all customers like family. “We don’t discriminate based on the size of the plane,” said Phillips. “Whether you’re in a 172 or a G7/G8, we treat you the same, with excellent customer service, respect and privacy.” The demand for its services has created the need for expansion. Hangars 3 and 4 are in the beginning stages of development and will include additional space for corporate offices for flight departments as well as an open, customizable floor plan for future clients.

Jeremy beams with pride in explaining how Sheltair maintains community responsibility through sponsorship. Sheltair is actively involved with Women in Aviation and Girls In Aviation Day, promoting women’s roles in all aspects of the aviation industry. As part of their commitment to Melbourne and the Space Coast, Sheltair sponsors several charities and events, including MelBOOM!, the Brevard Corporate 5k, the Melbourne Regional Chamber Pro-Am Golf Tournament and in December, Jingle Jet with the Zazza Foundation.

Sheltair soars above and beyond to offer custom aviation services to Space Coast industry, small businesses and military clientele.
