Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute (HSWRI) provides the only federally authorized first response, care, assistance, and research of dolphins and whales along 139 miles (222km, ~ 40% of Florida’s east
coast) of Florida’s east coast and 1800 km of estuarine waters as part of Florida’s Marine Mammal Stranding Network. HSWRI serves the state and communities by providing data on stranded marine
species, population studies and implementing programs that seek objective scientific solutions to the complex marine and coastal ecological problems facing Florida.
