Sprains and strains, ear infections, lacerations, stomach viruses, animal bites, back and neck pain, sports-related injuries, asthma attacks, urinary tract infections, colds and flus — these, and many more illnesses and mishaps, happen without notice. They’re debilitating enough to warrant immediate attention, but primary care providers can rarely offer same-day appointments and hospital emergency departments are geared to tackle more severe situations, and their services are priced accordingly.

Enter MedFast Urgent Care, the area’s largest and most comprehensive provider of urgent care, a team of experienced urgent care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants and X-ray technicians equipped to diagnose and treat a spectrum of non-life-threatening but nevertheless urgent medical conditions.

Patients can access help, with no need for appointments, at 18 locations in Brevard and Volusia Counties from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

To help both the patients and the companies that employ them, MedFast has created unique partnerships with businesses and organizations to encompass the scope of occupational health needs of staff. This personalized approach to occupational health is custom tailored to the needs of individual businesses.

“We currently partner with over 200 local and nonlocal companies,” said Alexandra Boles, vice president of operations.

“MedFast has created an initiative within to show additional companies that there are many beneficial reasons to partner with us for their occupational health needs. When a company focuses on employee health, it can help them to reduce injury-related costs.”

MedFast Urgent CareMedFast offers a wide range of occupational health services which include, but are not limited to physicals, workers compensation injuries, drug screens and OSHA-regulated exams, at rates more affordable than a hospital’s.

“We offer these services at all of our 18 locations, so a MedFast office is never far for the employee and employer,” Boles added.

Services include procedures and diagnostics a primary care physician may not be able to provide and which would be much more costly at a hospital.

“We fill the gap between the routine care offered by family physicians and the specialized help provided by doctors in emergency departments, and we prevent ERs from being overrun, which enables patients with serious emergencies to receive immediate care,” said Aimee Larkin, MedFast president and CEO.

The practice Dr. David Williams founded in 2007 has grown along with Central Florida and currently operates offices in Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, West Melbourne, Rockledge, Suntree, Viera and Edgewater, Port St. John [two offices] and three offices in each of the cities of Melbourne, Palm Bay and Titusville.
