Create a Wool Hat with Wet Felting
The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting a felting class “Create a Wool Hat: Wet Felting” taught by Glaucia Romano, on Saturday November 4 from 2 to 5 pm. Learn the basics of felting as you create a beautiful felted wool hat, just in time for cooler weather.
Felting is an ancient technique to create fabric that has been around since at least 6500 BCE! It is a non-woven textile made of wool or animal fur. There are different ways to create felt. In this class we will explore wet felting which uses soap and water to create strong fabrics that can be shaped into clothing, carpets, bags, hats, and more!
Your material fee ($25) includes half a pound of wool which you will use to create your hat. Any leftovers are yours to take home. Additionally, the material fee covers accent color wool and other consumable supplies that are needed to finish this project. Send your wool color requests to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than October 28th.
