Art Class for Homeschoolers Begins March 6
This March the Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting a three session “Art Class for Homeschoolers” taught by Glaucia Romano. The class meets on Mondays from 10 to 11 am on March 6, 20, and 27.
This class offers an ongoing art program attuned to the Florida Standards for students K-12 interested in an art elective. With a limit of 10 students, the class allows for a student-centered approach with individual attention. Throughout the year students will explore a variety of media including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, textiles, clay, and print-making. Additionally, they will learn art vocabulary and state standards including the elements of art and principles of design, famous artists, art history, contemporary arts, art careers, and more.
Glaucia is a Florida Certified Art Educator and has been teaching art at public schools for the past 10 years. She has taught Elementary and Middle School students. She left public school education for many of the same reason you may have decided to home school your child.. She has worked with students with Autism, other exceptionalities and disabilities, as well as English Language Learners.
Students’ work and progress can be evaluated to satisfy any requirements by the state. A grade will be presented at the end of each session to include in each child’s records. The class meets at the Studios of Cocoa Beach classroom behind the gallery at 159 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach.
Fee for the three weeks is $60. plus a $10 supply fee. Students should bring a an 8×11 or 9×12 spiral-bound unlined sketchbook . Questions? Contact Glaucia Romano at 321-345-0670 (text please)or glauciaromano@gmail.com Register on the Studios website: www.studiosofcocoabeach.org
