After the School Bell Rings – Katherine Watters, Marina Baldueza, Ava Raineri

For the month of September the Studios of Cocoa Beach is pleased
to present the work of three young artists that responded to an
invitation to exhibit their work in a competition for prizes.
Katherine Watters, age fifteen years, won first prize. Second prize
was split between and Marina Baldueza, age twenty and Ava Raineri,
age thirteen years. The purpose was to encourage young artists to
participate in a real, professionally presented exhibition to show off
their best works.
In addition, a new artist in the Studios, Sonia Mueller, is showing ten
to fifteen paintings in this month’s exhibition with many views from her
native country, the island of Cuba. On her permanent wall in the
Studios, she shows painting based on landscapes and nature. Sonia
works in several mediums including oil and acrylic.
Jackie Haggar, a permanent artist in the Studios, is exhibiting five of
her acrylic paintings in addition to her permanent wall. Her
landscapes and ocean scenes are done in the expressionist style.
She enjoys creating calming scenes painted in muted, earthy colors.
Her goal is to bring to the viewer an awareness of the beauty that
surrounds us.
The exhibition runs from Mon., Sept. 2 to Sun., Oct. 6.
A Reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 6:00 to 8:30.
