2-Day Family Fun: Making Clay Ornaments
This two day class begins November 18 at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway, in downtown Cocoa Beach. “Make a Pottery Ornament” with Glaucia Romano is a family project. The holidays are around the corner and the best thing about them is spending time with family. Bring the kids, the grandparents, and everyone in between. Class meets from 3:30 to 5 pm on Saturdays November 18 and December 2.
We will be creating simple Christmas ornaments using clay. Basic “cookie-cutter” ornaments can be successfully made even by the least experienced artists, while the over-achievers will have the option to create more elaborate works. The ornaments will then be fired in a kiln and at the second session we will be glazing those ornaments and adding the final “pizzazz” to them! You will also have the option of painting them with acrylics if you would like to take them home right away. Glazed ornaments will be fired and available for pick up a week after our last session.
Glaucia has a Masters in Art Education and has been teaching art to kids and adults for over 15 years, 10 of which in Elementary public schools.
Fee for the class is $10 for children 12 and under, $25 for age 13 and up. Register at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org. Visit the website for more information about this non-profit gallery, artist portfolios, events and a complete list of classes
