Local Businesses Team Up to Treat Women
and Families in Need

A special day of pampering seems like a luxury for most women, especially those who seek assistance from the Women’s Center in Brevard. But two local business owners, looking for a way to utilize their talents to give to the community, saw an opportunity to help create a clean, fresh start for those women and their families. From this vision, the Extreme Makeover: Home Body Mind was formed.

The creation of James Paulk, owner of Infinite EcoClean and Lisa Scozzari, owner of Lisa Marie’s Creative Hair Design, began its first makeover in June. The Women’s Center selected a woman and the Extreme Makeover began.

The Women’s Center clients are treated to a day at Lisa’s Eau Gallie salon while James and his team leave the clients’ homes spotlessly clean. Besides spa services like haircut, hair color, shampoo and blow dry, conditioning treatment, facial waxing and massage; the salon and spa also includes chromatherapy, aromatherapy, and altered state imagery displayed on over a 110-inch projection screen.

After the salon, photographer, Gaye Moore-Lewis with Pix 4 Da Girls Photography arranges a photo shoot, creating a lasting memory of the day.

Several other local businesses are teaming up and donating their services too including dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Palm Bay, Chuckie Cheese donated tickets and food for the family’s children.

Clients are selected every other month for the makeover and now prior recipients want to become involved and give back.

“We want it to continue to spread, involve other businesses,” Lisa said. “One small deed can spread to hundreds and make a huge difference in someone’s life.”

The Women’s Center provides counseling services, financial assistance, career guidance, job training, transitional housing, and victim advocacy. These women often are abused and battered, and looking for advocacy, guidance and support. ExtremeMakeoverHomeBodyMind.com
