Rain, rain, go away! This has been one stormy summer month in Brevard County. Although I normally enjoy a good afternoon thunderstorm (perfect time to curl up with a good book) I am ready for more sunshine. Here’s my silver lining this month!

I am Loving… statement necklaces. I love wearing a basic dress or white t-shirt with jeans and jazzing it up with a cool necklace like this one from Warehouse 216 in Cocoa Village. Finding that perfect accessory that really “speaks” to you is a win for any shopper. On days that I can’t find anything to wear, this necklace will certainly inspire me.

Must Read”The Rise” by Sarah Lewis. The phrase “the gift of failure” sounds like an oxymoron to most of us but Sarah Lewis’ intriguing book reflects on the often ignored role that failure plays in almost any ambitious enterprise. Beginning with the comparison of the archer’s arrow that cannot travel in a direct line but must rise and fall before it hits its target and theories from hundreds of other sources, her examinations will have you rethinking your own successes and failures.  You can hear Sarah Lewis speak next month at the Women’s Business Center’s IMPACT Business and Leadership Summit. I’m heading to…the movies. Another good thing to do on a rainy afternoon is see a movie. This summer I have not been able to keep up with all the latest ones I want to see! So I’m committed to changing that from here on out. I’m also looking forward to seeing the movie version of “Gone Girl” in October. I loved the book so I have high hopes for the movie. What have you seen recently that you love? Watch the trailer of “Gone Girl” below.
