Todd, the Pizza Planet Truck, can be found in nearly every single Disney/Pixar film. In fact, the toy characters used the Pizza Planet Truck as a mode of transportation in each of the three “Toy Story” films, according to Nevin Flinchbaugh, SpaceCoast Business’ lead designer. And now it cruises in Brevard. Built from a 1979 Toyota SR5, Flinchbaugh says that from the beginning, his own Todd, the Pizza Planet Truck was intended to be something that brightens people’s days –“Whether that is just seeing it drive down the road and saying, ‘Did I just see what I think I saw?’ or it is delivering toys or food to those in need,” he explains.
“My promise to God was that we would use the truck for good; to deliver food and clothes to the homeless, for random acts of kindness, toy drives, and community events,” Flinchbaugh continues. That is the purpose of Todd, the Pizza Planet Truck, though he and wife, Tasha, also use it for fun and at car shows occasionally.
“The dirt and rust is actually part of the vehicle wrap that was designed in Photoshop,” adds Flinchbaugh. The wrap was printed by PIP Printing in Merritt Island, and Flinchbaugh’s friend, Nicholas Preset was a “huge help” when it came to building the iconic rocket on the roof. “Although none of it could have been done without God’s blessing,” he says.
Depending on which of his business cards Flinchbaugh might hand you, you’ll see one of two different quotes inspiring positive change: “Change is nature, the part we can influence. And it all starts when we decide,” from the film “Ratatouille,” or “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing,” spoken by Walt Disney.
SCB Marketing is putting the finishing touches on a toy drive which will center around the truck. Watch our Facebook pages as well as Todd, the Pizza Planet Truck’s Facebook page for more details and opportunities to participate.
