Many topics are discussed during this one session class. The instructor will cover bathing, feeding, infant safety, and answer any of your baby care questions. Cost is $15 per couple. One registration will cover the fee and reservations for two people. All class dates are subject to change based on attendance.

Cafeteria Classroom 1 & 2

A little learning can go a long way toward building your knowledge and comfort level with your newborn. This class includes information about caring for your infant in the first days and weeks of life. Breastfeeding topics include: positioning of the newborn, breast milk production, latch on, diet, growth, pumping and milk storage. Come learn everything you need to know to help your baby make a smooth transition from womb to world. There may be times when we will need to reschedule classes, depending on class size.

Learn everything you need to know to deliver your baby at The Family Birth Place at Rockledge Regional Medical Center.  This class explains the basics of pregnancy, labor and delivery techniques as well as pain management options. It also includes extensive information about the benefits and risks of medical interventions such as augmentation, induction, epidural anesthesia, cesareans and more. Tours of The Family Birth Place at Rockledge Regional will take place immediately following each class and can be scheduled on a call-ahead basis on Saturday mornings.

This class explores such topics as true and false labor, the labor/birth process, medical terminology, labor coping skills, pain relief options, cesarean birth, labor/birth choices, newborn characteristics, and adjustment to parenthood. You will be provided with a keepsake instructional booklet at this class. Register as early as possible and plan to complete classes about two to four weeks before your due date. PLEASE NOTE: (1) The cost for this class is $70 per couple including one keepsake booklet. (2) Health First Health Plans members may apply for reimbursement by mailing a completed member reimbursement form, available from www.healthfirsthealthplans.org, along with your email confirmation of payment and certificate of completion to: Health First Health Plans Claims, P.O. Box 219612, Kansas City, MO 64121. Be sure to request a certificate of completion at the end of your class series.

Breastfeeding and baby care classes are also offered at a nominal fee.
