Holiday Builders Steps into Niche with HB Signature Series

For three decades, locally operated and employee-owned Holiday Builders has been known for providing families in Florida, South Carolina and Texas with unsurpassed quality, style and lasting value in home construction.  Now, on the eve of their 30th anniversary, the only Brevard-based builder to receive the JD Power Award for Quality is expanding its offerings through its HB Signature Series – a new collection of homes for buyers wanting a high quality, customized, Florida Green home in less time than it takes to build most custom homes.

“We listened to our buyers,” said Michelle Smallwood, Holiday’s vice president of sales and marketing, “and designed ‘livable homes’ for today’s lifestyles.”  One example is that some homes have been specifically designed to accommodate families with school-aged children.  “Lots of families congregate in the kitchen area, so with kids doing their homework there we wanted to be flexible in terms of the amenities – such as large islands, specialty work areas and cabinetry – so the family can comfortably be together,” she explained.

One of the nation’s fifty largest residential home builders, Holiday has its own in-house architectural design expertise and capabilities.  VP of Construction Operations Norman Lei, a licensed architect, has been a designer for over 20 years, with extensive experience working for a California-based private architectural firm that designs million-dollar custom homes and resort-style communities.  Trained in Florence, Italy, Lei has been with Holiday for the past five years and has been instrumental in the development of the HB Signature Series.

The HB Signature Series’ models are not only Energy Star certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) but are also certified “Florida Green” by Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), to ensure energy efficiency, sustainability and lower costs to operate the home.  “Holiday takes the extra steps to meet the requirements of ‘green’ homes,” explained Tod Byers, Regional Sales Director for Florida.  “We want to provide our customers with homes that are cleaner and more energy efficient.”

In addition to showcasing the latest trends in architectural design and functionality, the builder emphasizes energy and money-saving details, including tankless water heaters; strategic window placement; heating and cooling unit size, placement and duct work; insulation; and appliances.

“Holiday Builders has earned its reputation as the builder of best-priced, quality homes of lasting value,” said Byers, “and the Signature Series will build upon that excellence.”  As with all Holiday homes, the new series will come with a two-year warranty – which is double the standard offer of most home builders.  “We stand by our homes and the families we build them for because we live by our mission.  We’re not just building a house, but a HOME – a special place at the center of people’s lives,” added Byers.
