The Hacienda Girls Ranch Guild will host an unforgettable luncheon at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club on Friday, May 20 at 11:30 a.m. to raise funds for young women aging out of foster care. The $75 ticket includes a fabulous meal with delicious mimosa cocktails.
The event will raise money and support the efforts of the organization that offers transitional housing and serves the needs of young women 18 and older who are unable to live independently. The clients living at the Hacienda Girls Ranch frequently come from a home organized by its parent organization, the Children’s Home Society of Florida, Brevard Division. Some of them come from the foster system and don’t have a family to depend upon during difficult times. The complex holds up to eight young women at a time. The Girls Ranch gives them computers for job hunting. The clients are expected to pay for food, clothing and essentials. Those not in a position to pay are given job counseling and transportation. If they’re not working or in school, they are required to do volunteer work.
