The Avenue’s newest posh boutique Sweet Cheeks is located in the space formerly occupied by Baby Zak’s. The basic concept remains mainly the same, featuring unique children’s items, gifts, accessories and much more. New owners Kristine Good and Christine Trask purchased Baby Zak’s as an expansion of their boutique located in Sanford.

Trask’s idea began as a women’s boutique, but after being inspired by her one-year-old son Landon, she decided to open a children’s boutique instead. Business partner Christine Good loved the new idea.

“We can call thank my son Landon for that,” Trask said.

While keeping the most popular items that made Baby Zak’s, a favorite of moms and children, the owners say their goal is to include trendier items including those worn by celebrity babies. Good keeps up-to-date with celebrity baby blogs and searches online for the latest and greatest trends.

One thing that has changed is the sizes carried, which now include those up to toddler 8 for girls and 6 for boys, or “divas” and “dudes” as they are referred to at the Sweet Cheeks store.

Sweet Cheeks hopes to help moms dress their babies more stylishly while still looking wholesome.  In case you didn’t notice, it’s much more than just pink and blue these days. More moms and dads want their children to reflect their own personal sense of style including bohemian trends and graphic tees.

“We hear a lot of ‘does this come in my size?’” Trask said.

The boutique also carries fabulous baby shower gifts like cute buckets that can be personalized with the baby’s name, bottle pets, picture frames and swaddle blankets.

“You can be a hit at the next baby shower, we can put something together that’s really unique,” Good says.

Personalization is another big thing right now, according to Trask. So the boutique offers many items like artwork, sippy cup bands, necklaces by Bashful Bliss and others that can be customized.

“Our main goal is to get to know our clients and form relationships. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do,” Good says.
