The Junior League of South Brevard’s Festival of Trees has been a Space Coast tradition for 29 years and is considered the “official” kickoff of the local holiday season. This year the event takes place on Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17 at the Viera Regional Community Center. Attendees can admire decorated trees of all sizes that are available for purchase through a silent auction. Wreaths and other ornamental items are also on display and available to purchase. Talented designers, artists and community leaders donate the trees that benefit the Junior League’s community projects.

“The proceeds from our event will support our Fueling Kids Project, where we provide nutritious snacks and a physical activity to children in after school care,” event chair Liz Moran-Young said. “This year we have partnered with Riviera Elementary and Sabal Elementary schools. In addition we are also supporting the Children’s Hunger Project to provide meals to children to take home on the weekend.”
This year the event offers extended hours until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening. These additional hours are a great time for shoppers to enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the holiday decorations before a dinner date or night out on the town.

But the traditional holiday favorites still remain. Santa Claus is available all weekend for photos, the first opportunity to take them and make it in time to get holiday cards out. Children can visit with Santa and stay for games and crafts in the kids’ area while parents get a head start on holiday shopping at the holiday marketplace filled with fascinating vendors including jewelry, art, home décor and more.  Many exciting raffle packages are available to win. Live entertainment is provided by local musicians, dancers and singers. The league also offers homemade goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth.

This family-friendly event is an annual community fundraiser that supports Brevard County through financial and volunteer commitments.
